Sampling Plan Analyzer's Capabilities

Sampling Plan Analyzer selects and evaluates sampling plans based on the protection they provide.  You evaluate your current sampling plans by entering the characteristic you are inspecting for, the type of plan you are using and then entering the parameters of your plan.  If you are using one of the standards supported such as ANSI Z1.4 or ANSI Z1.9,  you can simply enter the indexes (AQL, level of inspection, lot size).  Sampling Plan Analyzer currently supports the following characteristics and types of sampling plans:
  • Defective Units
  • Single
  • Double
  • Multiple
  • ANSI Z1.4
  • Variables Single
  • ANSI Z1.9

  • Defects Per Unit
  • Single
  • Double
  • Multiple
  • ANSI Z1.4

  • Defects Per Quantity
  • Single
  • Double
  • Multiple

Sampling Plan Analyzer can calculate the following for you:
  • OC curve (Operating Characteristic)
  • AOQ curve (Average Outgoing Quality) when applicable
  • ASN curve (Average Sample Number)
  • Cost curve: The cost model used can be customized.
  • Summary parameters:
  • AQL - Acceptable Quality Level
  • LTPD - Lot Tolerance Percent Defective
  • LQ - Limiting Quality
  • RQL - Rejectable Quality Level
  • UQL - Unacceptable Quality Level
  • AOQL - Average Outgoing Quality Limit

Many sampling plans offer the same protection for all lots inspected.  However, some types of sampling plans such as the ANSI Z1.4 switching rules adjust either the acceptance criteria or sampling plan used based on the result of previous lots.  When such is the case, the protection provided by the sampling plan depends on the quality of previous lots.  The OC curve, AQL, LTPD and other values above represent the protection during long periods of constant protection.  Sampling Plan Analyzer also provides you with the following information on the protection during periods of changing quality:
  • Maximum Probability of Acceptance curve
  • Minimum Probability of Acceptance curve
  • Summary parameters:
  • Minimum Probability of Acceptance at AQL
  • Rate of Convergence at AQL
  • Maximum Probability of Acceptance at LTPD
  • Rate of Convergence At LTPD

Sampling Plan Analyzer also will select sampling plans for you based on the protection you desire.  You can enter what it is you want to accept (AQL) and what it is that you want to reject (LTPD).  You can also enter an existing sampling plan and ask Sampling Plan Analyzer to select alternatives plans offering the same protection (AQL and LTPD).

Sampling Plan Analyzer offers many unique capabilities not found anywhere else:
  • It handles Form 1 (k-method) variable sampling plans even the standard deviation is unknown which are far easier to use than the  Form 2 (M-method) plans given in ANSI Z1.9.  It is easily the most powerful package of its kind.
