Variable Dialog Boxes

The variable dialog boxes are used to enter information on the variables comprising the I/O System.  The four variable types and their respective dialog boxes are:
Continuous Input Variable: Continuous Input Variable dialog box
Category Input Variable: Category Input dialog box
Output Variable: Output Variable dialog box
Objective Function: Objective Function dialog box}
For all these dialog boxes, when an edit box is exited, a radio button clicked, or a new item selected from a combo box, all child windows are immediately notified of the change.  Some child windows, will immediately display the change.  Other child windows may wait to update their results until the child window is selected by clicking on it.  To show that the child window is no longer current, a red X is drawn through it.  For edit boxes, as long as the cursor remains in the edit box, no update is performed.
To add a new variable and display its dialog box, use the Add menu item on the Variables menu. or click the button on the toolbar or I/O System window.  To display the dialog box of an existing variable, use the Edit menu item on the Variables menu or double click on the variable in the I/O System window or Summary Table window.
